A civil airport on the military Air Base
Payerne Airport focuses on business aviation and experimental aircraft. Its 2.8 km runway leads to an 18’000 m² fully lighted apron that can accommodate aircraft up to CAT C. Runway 05 and runway 23 are both equipped with ILS while runway 23 also has GNSS available. The topography of the surroundings allows for a low-angle approach and departure gradient.

Opening hours
Payerne Airport is slot-free: operators can choose arrival and departure times freely within the airport’s opening hours.
The airport authority can grant extensions up to 22:00 H local time and authorize flights on bank holidays.

Payerne Airport’s rooftop terrace is a spotter’s paradise as it offers a unique viewpoint onto LSMP’s shared use runway, providing opportunities to observe and take pictures of a variety of military and civil aircrafts from a distance of only 200m.
